The one thing I love about classical collections that highlight their audio innovations, is that they reveal their own characteristic unique to themselves. I totally get why some people like the Decca Sound; it just has some directness yet spaciousness in the way it's recorded. The best of both worlds can coexist harmonically. I'm assuming that the collection's era spans from the late 1950s to the 1980s, which just deepens the appreciation significantly.
