Karl Böhm

Austrian conductor, born 28 August 1894 in Graz, Austria and died 14 August 1981 in Salzburg, Austria.
In 1917, he became rehearsal assistant at the Opernhaus Graz as rehearsal assistant making his debut as a conductor later that year. He became the assistant director of music in 1919, and the following year, the senior director.
Father of Karlheinz Böhm.

Not to be confused with the German composer Carl Bohm.
