Edited one year agoSimilarly to what Leo_Ashencold posted here on Jan 26, 2024, mine example of this edition also came quite filled with clicks and pops. not totally, but quite a lot for a factory sealed brand new item.
regular dry-brush cleaning before listen did not help much.
This is not the first time in my experience having fresh released items with quality like that. This happens.
But always not a good surprise having production quality like that. Especially when comparing with some used vinyls being cleaner when received.
great music itself, though. -
Extremely dynamic, punchy and selective sounding pressing. Absolutely no clicks and pops whatsoever👌👌👌
I highly recommend this particular pressing 💯 -
Edited one year agoI always considered that Discogs should help people to choose good editions and not necessarily judge albums and artists. In other words, I tend to not make comments about my experience with an album / artist, and focus on the format, sound and extras.
This edition (and I hope not the others) is the example of how a poor pressing can ruin the whole album. Few times I've see so much crap in a vinyl, the needle could only advance 10 min before jumpling collapsed by the amount of dirt accumulated. In other words, I had to clean it 8 times before I could properly listen to the album in one go. On top I could not even understand if the lack of dynamics I noticed was because of the noise and crackle, or the pressing being awfully flat.
This is far from acceptable, as you have to compromise a stylus and at least 1 hour of your time to clean a vinyl that already costs 30 euro (if you are lucky to find it for that price in Spain). By the time I finished I literally lost the interest and moved to another record, obviously I will come back to it...bottom line is control quality sucks, considering what we pay for records today.
