Slift – Ilion

Blah blah blah No trace of non-fill. No pops. It’s a stellar pressing although as someone mentioned below the mix is a tad muddy. Still, a powerful LP if this type of thing is your bag. It’s no Oranssi Pazuzu, but it will do you just fine.

Heavy Non Fills on Side B - on all copies I ordered. Such a shame. Simple not acceptable. Music and packing great, but as long as the pressing is as bad as this one: stay away.

Can anybody who has this version confirm whether it is actually full white? From a quick chat with the merch guy on the recent tour, a schoolfriend of the band, he seemed to suggest that either the white went wrong at the press, leading to the space marble version, or the other way round!
I bought what I thought was this version (the vinyl looked solid white) but it's actually the space marble one according to the barcode.

Listening to “Ilion” is like being strapped to the nose of a French bullet train for an hour trip. A nonstop barrage of metal power. Every track hits you with a brutal punch to the jaw. This is not for the timid, metal maniacs only need apply. Best metal release of 2024 so far & will likely take all prisoners and remain ruler at the end. Bravo Slift !!!

Massive cracks on The Words That Have Never Been Heard (Side B) on both the initial album and also the replacement after reclamation. Has to be on all red/black smoke presses. Annoying!

Wow superb pressing, top notch sound, no defects, which shows that "small groups" can be demanding on the quality of their final product sold to their fans.. Plus I thought I had the white but I got the Dark Red Smoke then:

Quite brilliant music pressed on beautiful looking, and sounding, records. Amazing

Similarly to what Leo_Ashencold posted here on Jan 26, 2024, mine example of this edition also came quite filled with clicks and pops. not totally, but quite a lot for a factory sealed brand new item.
regular dry-brush cleaning before listen did not help much.
This is not the first time in my experience having fresh released items with quality like that. This happens.
But always not a good surprise having production quality like that. Especially when comparing with some used vinyls being cleaner when received.
great music itself, though.
