My friends.... this is a good piece of vinyl! Flat. Plays quiet. Awesome mix. Great balance. Good stuff here!

My copy was slightly off center on side B
Rendering the last 2 tracks unplayable with a bad warping sound .
The album overall sounds good but beware of quality control and play the album while you can still do a return for a better copy -
This was the first KISS album I got it was on Christmas 1976 from my parents. Once I put it on the turntable and hear the first song "I WANT YOU!" I had rock and roll KISS fever I said Take Me to Dr. Love. Even a Hard Luck Women tried Makin' Love to me in the Ladies Room, she Love 'Em Leave 'Em. I felt like Mr. Speed and turned into a Baby Driver. I couldn't sleep because I'd See You In My Dreams. You beginning KISS and I would rate ROCK AND ROLL OVER as one of KISS' best albums, even better than Destroyer. 5 Stars for sure.

Like everything else KISS, I really enjoy this album. This remaster didn't sound quite as much of a step up from my original pressing, however it's not worse either (so it is a little bit of a step up from the original). I picked this up for about $10 brand new, and is worth it for me at that price. If you don't have an original pressing of this one or you need a replacement copy, then definitely go for this reissue. However, if you have an original in excellent condition, you aren't getting much an upgrade, so the choice is yours on this one.
"Calling Dr. Love" is one of the classics on this album, however the original album version (which is what's here) isn't quite a good as the re-recorded version later released on some compilations. Other than that. some of my favorites on here are "Take Me", "Baby Driver", and "Love 'Em And Leave 'Em". Still give this record 5 out 5 stars. -
Edited 5 years agoIt's amazing how incredibly bad the lyrics are as well as the general performance of these songs. It's as if they had a quality ceiling they didn't want to break through. That's what sold the band. They put a monetary value on holding back talent. Their talent was making money not art. That said I give the record 4 stars. See?? Mr. Know-it All is sold. MGN
