Seeing the Butthole Surfers many, many times live in Detroit through the 80's. This EP captures their live show sound perfectly. 5 Stars!

The outlandish and savage live shows from the Butthole Surfers were so legendary that people used to say they were one of the bands that truly created a show in which their music was the surplus.

PPEP is the recorded live show for their eponymous EP and it quite capture the raw, crazy wild aspect of the show as it should be, this mismatch between punk and psychedelic rock gone mentally ill.
"Cowboy Bob" for example comes in full display of psychedelic power infused with punk aggression with no peace in between, it's like a rollercoaster that starts from the top with no ascension. Right up and direct into the mayhem.

Each track is vibrant and electrifying, keeping an almost tribal pace while surrounded by the poignancy of a downtuned guitar and tumultuous bass. The album surely captures the crazy momentum, alas, those screams and moans in between the guitar twangs and buzzes truly confirm the deepness of such trip.
      One of their best releases!
