Reviews

A brilliant edition and a very good remaster half speed. Nice sound, rich bass, great dinamics and nice stereo separetion. If i had to Mark a letdown... they shold to be in a gatefold sleeve, specially for the poster inside and the two inner sleeves. OVERALL GREAT RECORD!

Juat listened to this half speed mastered pressing of It’s Hard. Have to say this is quite an enjoyable album. Not sure why it is gets such bad reviews. Not sure if you need to crank the volume for half speed masters but this album needs to be played loud.

Edited 2 years agoFantastic pressing and remaster of this LP. it has never sounded this good. The alternate version of Eminence Front with Roger Daltrey sharing vocals with Pete Townshend is a great addition too.
-
I wasn't gonna bother with the RSD release, but I been reading so many good things about it, I thought I would go for it. I found a really good deal, so I jumped on it. WOW! I'm glad I did!! The mastering rocks!!

Edited 2 years agoI hesitated on picking this one up-the remastered Face Dances last year was a sonic disappointment, very flat and lacking dynamics. I’m happy to say this one is
much better, very spacious and punchy, and the bonus tracks are a nice addition (I particularly enjoyed hearing the previously unreleased version of Eminence Front with Roger and Pete trading lead vocals).

So happy with this RSD release. Sounds great (in my opinion). Looks great. Great color choices for the vinyl. LPs are flat, center and dynamic. Printed inners and poster. Unlike some other RSD releases that feel like a cash grab this one does not. High quality. A welcomed addition to my collection.

Edited 2 years agoGreat packaging and a wonderful mastering job, which really shines on songs like Cry If You Want and One Life's Enough. I do have an issue with my Side 4 pressing - lots of surface noise (a persistent shhhhh sound in the right channel that modulates as the LP revolves). It plays through on my LP12 but on my son's U-Turn Orbit it skips repeatedly on Eminence front at any point in the song - wherever the needle is placed. Matrix number on mine is BL60255-02 D^ Anyone else having the same issue on Side 4?

here we are, another year and another WHO rsd release in half speed remastered sound & deluxed & expanded packaging, ok so what we get this year is one lp is orange and the other lp is yellow, this comes with a nice computer generated poster from the 1982 its hard photo sessions..( i miss the 70s,80s & even some 90s) glossy style posters and the inner sleeves are printed with UPDATED information as per the original inner sleeve from 40 years ago.... the sleeve is high quality and the records where pressed in and i believe the sleeve was to BUT there is an address on the rear of the sleeve that does contain an adress in the netherlands.... anyway this comes with the usual obi strip the last few half speed remasters have come with, for color vinyl this sounds very good to my ears... i am not looking for small nitty picky stuff to complain about regarding the 80s sound compression etc etc as i am just happy that in 2022 a very nice reissue of a record like this can still get a beautiful reissue!!!! the vinyl is pressed on thick vinyl.... i feel the highlight here with regards to the tracks is the roger lead vocal on EMINENCE FRONT from the original sessions........ well next up in july is the SELL OUT & TOMMY HALF SPEED REMASTERS...... younger record collectors i feel complain a lot about things us older ones did not long ago, so my only complaint with this reissue would be THE COMPUTER GENERATED POSTER...........i cant believe in a couple of months it will be 40 years already as i bought this on the original street date in 1982... 40 years ago NOW i was rocking out a lot to townshends then new solo record ALL THE BEST COWBOYS HAVE CHINESE EYES....... does not seem like 40 years went that fast....
