Edited 2 years agoBeware many sealed copies probably have plain white inners. Only 1st pressings had the fancy ones. After waiting over a year on my wantlist I purchased 1 month ago right here for $35 yet Discogs removed the “lowest” price from their history. They have done this before - pretty obvious why. Moodymann sold these from his own website until recently. Great soulful
tunes with fine sampling and Moodyspeak. Love the LP just feel for folks overpaying for this. -

Funky and relaxed tracks, great production and sound. Pressing is excellent: silent, no pops and crackles (better be as it was very expensive).

This is it. Well, to me it was already over with Black Mahogani, but if there was any doubt, this here settles it.
Moodymann is the GOAT and this is the Magnum Opus.
There's Larry Heard, the Timewriter, the Belleville three and many others, but alone on top is this guy that somehow makes it look so effortless.
If shivers down ones spine could be measured, the ones that went down in my body when I heard this for the first time would be in the double digit Richter scale.

There are way more reasons to discuss this record other than the price.. it is another timeless classic out of Detroit.

the music flows - you can feel how easy KDJ creates the tracks. There is love in what he is doing and authenticity - probably this is one of the secrets in his music. Please keep going.
Thanks to rushhour for selling this one early for a reasonable price.
