Pure bliss.
If I gave you my love is as Moodymannesque as it can get, with a lovely original sample from Camille Yarbrough's 1975 Take yo praise song. -

Edited 3 years agoWhat else can I add? Deep house perfection...purely sublime. Is that a TB-303 bubbling under the surface of 'Deeper Shadow'? Moodymann brings the funk and the emotion in equal measure. -
Edited 5 years agoIn my opinion, the best House record from 2019. Moodymann not only lives up to the hype but he respects and elevates the Detroit sound to a higher level. Also, should be noticed, that the theme song Sinnerman, can only be found on vinyl, and yes, it's one of the best tunes. Stone cold killer record.

The wax might be an EP, but the 9-track digital release feels like a whole album with a story to tell. Love it! -
Edited 5 years agoCan't believe I found this in Nashville. I really dig the 12"s, especially Disc 1. I wish those bonus tracks from the digital release made the cut to the wax version!

Why is "Downtown" not on wax? Really nice track, timeless. Reminds me about Black Mahogani. -
I swear I've heard those strings in 'Deeper Shadow' somewhere else and they're sampled from a fairly known song, but I can't just recall at this moment. Captain, help!
