Edited one month agoNo Rag and Bone is definitely a disappointment. I need to go buy Icky Thump to get that one. I found the "greatest hits" to be a bit of a stretch. There are quite a few songs I like much more that are missing but that is subjective.
-
The 7 Nation Army Guys were not exclusive to Rough Trade in the UK. My local independent store had some. (They kindly gave some when I made a completely different purchase - possibly White Stripes.)

For a greatest hits compilation, this one hits all the marks. Even the inclusion of Seven Nation Army as the last track reflects pretty much every one of their nightly setlists after 2003. But as a major fan, I've got to have the original albums. Sorry Jack.

Edited 7 months agoIn my opinion there are four different versions available:
- Rough Trade exclusive (UK - with toy soldiers)
- FNAC exclusive (- with shipmat)
- Target exclusive (USA - with slipmat)
- Standard (Worldwide)
FNAC and Target have respectively different barcodes compare to the standard release barcode, which is the same as the barcode of Rough Trade.
For a buyer at Discogs it's a challenge to find the desired edition of this release on the market in only one release.
For a seller it's difficult, to offer an exclusive limited edition, which is of higher value compare to the standard edition. His offer at Discogs is listed at the end of the market (>200 offered items), because of the exclusivity.
Also the value of exclusive releases are higher than the standard releases. The average price don't fit here for exclusive releases in only one release.
The Discogs rules could be interpreted different, so I call for different releases, if the barcodes are different to exclusive releases to the standard release.

Edited 8 months agoMmh, my record shows that lacquers have been cut by Daniel Krieger at SST. Sounds great, but I cannot find it here...
-
Edited 11 months agoGreat double LP anthology, selected and sequenced in a way that makes me wonder if it was compiled by Jack White. Zero issues with this 'Target exclusive' release, the slipmat is a cool touch, and the vinyl is heavy, flat and quiet. My copy was purchased new and plays flawlessly.
-
Edited 2 years agoA dope compilation but the sound quality of their recordings varies drastically by each album so it's a weird listen. But overall unfortunately Sound quality overall is very bad, very flat and dull. Housed in paper sleeves too...
-
Edited 11 months agoThis is a terrible press. Tons and TONS of surface noise. I've only heard digital versions of these songs and they aren't that great. I'd avoid this record. There is a reason it was in the clearance bin.

Edited 11 months agoFantastic record with interesting but very cool slipmat! Love they included it.
