the boys go from singles craftsmen to album tinkerers, creating 6 top-to-bottom unmistakable gems! beats abound and snyth-basses aplenty.
the 2018 remaster packs more punch in the low-end, whether it improves on the original mix is probably down to personal preference. otherwise, this pressing is completely bs-free!
forgot to mention also, PLAY IT LOUD. -
Edited 11 months agoPerfect sound to me. Super crisp, punchy, detailed, wide and dynamic. Very engaging.
Excellent quality of vinyl, not a single tick. -

Edited 2 years agoDirect comparison with the original UK vinyl https://discogs.mejorespelis.org/release/58656-Pet-Shop-Boys-Introspective and original CD: This timtom cut sounds the best of the three to me, but only by a slight margin. All 3 are very close, with this LP being slightly smoother in the top end compared with the original vinyl, and more high-res than the CD (bandwidth to 48k+).
As others have said, reissues are often not as good as the original press. Tim Young did - not surprisingly - an excellent job on all these PSB reissues. -
Bass is too much boosted and highs are lowered compared to german original release. Sorry to say but CD sounds by far better, you really get this synth sound for what this record is about

Tim Young did an amazing work on this reissue. Mastering engineer is key for a good listening experience

Edited 5 years agoWOW! Amazing sound! Bought this vinyl yesterday and hearing it now for the first time! Clear and warm sound, No clics or pops. Love it! All six songs are fabulous! The Long Extended Versions of "Left To My Own Device" and "Domino Dancing " and "Always On My Mind/In My House" are incredible!!!

Edited one year agoAn essential purchase for any record collection. Great sound / packaging / pressing. The mastering is truly phenomenal on all the PSB reissues.

I tend to avoid reissues especially when you can pick up original pressings of this album for a reasonable price but have to agree with the comments below, this is a superb pressing - vibrant and warm. Impressive packaging too with a strong cardboard inner. A very worthy release on the album's 30th anniversary and I will grab a few more of these PSB releases on vinyl.
