Spacialdimension... really nice sounds... however, "nice" might be a tad of an over-inflated reference to this genre of music. Although I couldn't provide the sufficient amount of technical information in regards to the essential production of this style of music (please feel free to enhance my experience), I can rest assure that, ever since the very inception of the first Echospace production, the listener has been taken on non-other than a complete sonic sojourn into simply an advanced mastery of delay, reverb, and tape hiss. The previous review only strenghtens my disclosure: Echospace production is by no means "inferior" to an already established genre by the likes of the much lauded Basic Channel crew, but also neither unpredictable. What drives the minor solemn masses to hord this sound on vinyl religiously, is as much as a phenomenon as any in regards to a type of music bent on exclusivity, laced with a penchant for re-perfecting a regurgitated sound. Simply put, "I love it," but otherwise, I would prefer a track-for-track re-issue of the whole original Deepchord catalogue. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." And the other faction would argue: "Echospace is an improvement on Deepchord." I couldn't agree on more an accurate paradox. Neither productions are genre defining, yet indispensable in its development. Deepchord created a lexicon that drove a sound further, and the Echospace partnership not only continued it, but "modernized" the sound in particular. In conclusion, it seems this label will never falter too far from its sound; but if you find yourself absolutely enamored with it-- look no further.

I cannot believe no one has written about this release yet, probably the best thing echospace or deepchord have ever done (yes, even better than the coldest season!) The original mix is by far one of the deepest, dreamiest songs i have ever heard in this vein, no joke folks. The most amazing thing about this record is its progression, it starts off so distant but all of the sudden, the darkest stabs and deepest melodies creep in and get right under your skin. The melodies that seem to evolve into the mix just come out of nowhere, then the break hits, the most beautiful chords come in and take you further into deep space than your likely to have ever explored. If you liked Main Street "New Day", "Found A Way" or Maurizio 4, 4.5 & 7, this is right up there with the best of them. The deepest Detroit tech dub I have ever heard! Just saw Wire Magazine's best of 2007, was nice to see Echospace take the number 1 spot, a great year for these two amazing producers and well deserved. This is hands down one of the best of 2007 and I can't wait to see what 2008 has in store!
