Found this randomly and wasn’t aware it existed. What a fantastic, ahead of its time piece of work.

This pressing apparently does not include a poster. My copy was still sealed when purchased (June 2024). I assumed I'd get a poster, but there waas none. Great and very cuttting edge music regardless! Side 2 sounds like it could have been an outtake from Klaus Schulze's Cyborg!

Interesting that in the notes on the back of the album, Wendy says that this was recorded in quad, but it was never released in quad.

To be one of the minority I find these overrated and tedious but will agree that they are pioneering works that deserve a place on my shelves.

Incredible record, one of the best ambient albums of all time.

Completely amazing work by Carlos. So ahead of its time, so detailed in the layers of sound design. I too like the 1986 unreleased tracks, virtually a new album by themselves, and it's easy to see why WC twinned them with the original for this re-release. Currently eBay is awash with (what I'm convinced are) bootleg copies, certainly well-produced CD-Rs. There are Russian boots of other ESD Carlos releases from around 2012 according to Discogs. Could be originals but there are details in the printing that seem wrong - variations in colour and text layout - but they do sound excellent.

Wendy Carlos made this in 1972. Brian Eno (who I am a huge fan of as well) made pretty much the same album ten years later, 1982 and called it " On Land" .Has anyone ever seen or heard him mention /acknowledge anywhere on its obvious influence? Also if you have never had the privilege to hear this and are a Tangerine Dream fan , then think of it as "Zeit" but for Earth not space.

something's not adding up about this album's popularity and availability. It seems like a very ahead of it's time, influential, surprisingly strange, at times intense album. However, it's Not on spotify, not even on youtube, never rereleased after it's initial release except once on cd over 20 years ago, original copies of the album are cheap. Very strange there's not a greater demand for this in some form or another.
