John Fogerty – Chronicle - The 20 Greatest Hits

i only listened the first record so far, but whoa, this album sounds dang good. i figured a target exclusive on colored vinyl would have been mediocre if i got lucky, but i’m actually surprised. it sounds 200 times better than some “audiophile hype-stickered” records i have. lesson learned, can’t always discredit the target releases.

Mastering sounds good but my pressing is poor. There’s an indentation on side A that covers most of track 1. Track 2 loses fidelity in a couple spots and is virtually static for a second or two before the groove gets right again. Since there are over a hundred versions of this album, I’d avoid this version.

This is a great pressing. I can’t hear any surface noise and I don’t see any scratches or problems with the record.

Quality of record is great, plenty and deep sound. Nice coolection of songs

Could someone please tell me if D1 is the short version (3:52) instead of the long version (11:05)? Please listen to the vinyl. Thank you.

This is a fantastic pressing, at least for the true stereo recordings. 20 songs on one LP and such a sound - Harry Moss (HTM) knew what he was doing. The reprocessed mono songs sound slightly off, though. Still, this is the best „Chronicle“ l‘ve heard so far. (The bass on „I Put A Spell On You“ is amazing.)

I have copy that has all the hallmarks of mixed plates. However, it has brown labels with white Fantasy Records text on the bottom of the label? No Lightning labels. 1976 or 1978??

Anyone know if this is remastered? I notice it's not listed as such, but it's a 2019 reissue.

You won't find many 'Greatest Hits' compilations out there that come THIS close to perfect, but the CCR one right here has definitely been a main frontrunner in that race for nearly 50 years now! Even with the notable omission of "Born On The Bayou" (one of my all-time personal favorites from them), it's still a certified 5-star collection as far as I'M concerned. And if it doesn't get you diving deeper into this legendary American band's celebrated discography, then I guess nothing else will (lol)...
