Smashing Pumpkins* – Siamese Dream

Bought the 2011 version a couple of years ago however have always been unhappy with an imperfection in the wax on Luna (bit of debris pressed into the record, still plays with some noise but no skips).

Bought this as a “trophy” copy I suppose, sounds absolutely perfect, beautiful mix that does the album justice, no surface noise.

My only gripe is the paper inner sleeves the discs came in - very poor and arrived ripped on both discs, but thankfully no damage to the discs themselves, easily resolved by putting them in anti-static sleeves. Very very happy with the purchase.

Having an original US and UK copy from 1993, this 2025 remaster doesn't come anywhere near to those. Muffled sound whereas instruments are well separated in the originals on which guitars hit you like a wall.

This master sounds really good, however my pressing has some issues. Side A is unfortunently really off center from the factory, something that messes up hummer a bit, which is my favorite song. The rest of the album sounds amazing though. Quality control may lack but I also could have been really unlucky since most others here are pleased. Worth it since the original is stupid expensive.

The cover is too tight for the record sleeves which is kinda annoying, also personally prefer the original cover but that comes down to preference. 3/5⭐️ overall

I bought and replaced at least 5 copies and EVERYONE of them had the same problems: a pop here or there which wasn't due to dust. After the 5th replacement I gave up and took the last copy with me which has some pops in the intro of Soma. It's annoying. Overrall I think this has great dynamics, a bit static but nothing that invasive

My copy is flat and sounds fantastic. I have none of the issues noted below. If you are looking for a copy of this record on vinyl take a chance with this pressing.

Outstanding pressing with a superb sound, very punchy and great dynamics. You can't go wrong with this one.

You would think since it was cut at the same place for the OG (Sterling), this would sound damn good, or even close on par with the OG. nope. some tracks feel compressed, fuzz on right channel for a few tracks. heck if memory serves correctly. those 2011? remasters by stan getz sounded much more lively. Yet still to this day i haven't heard anything that tops the original sterling.

I have been skeptical of the onslaught of colored vinyl releases over the last few years (and truthfully, for about the last 50 years!), and this was no exception. I was hesitant because of the swirly color, and I am very cautious with the 'Pumpkins. i didn't have an original copy because I am leery of these guys-so two strikes already. Still, I have been fascinated with this album since its release, I do own a copy on CD, and was thrilled to see this reissue.

Not disappointed in the least! Nice looking discs, and they sound great to me. Even and full. I had to help with a bit of volume, but it sounds pretty solid and even better up loud. Whatever Vig and Corgan did while recording this they were absolute magic.

No original to compare to, but happy that after all this time I now own a hard copy.
