Tears For Fears – The Seeds Of Love

I've got this pressing, with a hole punch, taken from a late music producer's personal collection. What's interesting about my copy is that it came with seven of postcards of the album art and the album cover. On the rear of each card of art it reads "t.f.f. the seeds have been sown - one in a series" and on the cover postcard "tff 25th september 1989." Does anyone know if there are any others with postcards out there? I can't seem to locate any.

Nice presentation, of course this is a picture disc, and it will not present "tone poet" quality sound reproduction. To all people complaining, his album was recoded and mixed digitally manipulated bit by bit, a digital work of art, to be presented on compact disc. Original 1989 CD pressings are abundant and cheap on CD and sound great. If you want to hear how the artists intended this to sound, buy the original cd and enjoy this picture disc for what it is... pretty cool.

#03878 This has been a grail of mine since I started buying vinyl again in 2017. I bought this originally in '89 on CD as one was want to do back in those days. It was mindblowing back then, and has aged gracefully.
Music & production from this era can be spotty to today's ears, but this could drop today and be relevant.
The soundstage is huge, and the musicianship is organic. Orzabal's voice is vibrant and clear as a bell from the town spire.
This piece of art will transcend time and I am very happy that I own this amazing pressing to document that. 😎🇨🇦

Whilst I agree with some of the comments here, I have reservations about the vinyl release. I have this one and, in many instances, the sound is great. Oleta Adams' vocals come through superbly, as does Manu Katche's bass drum on Ban's Song for eg, as does Simon Phillips' drums at the end of Year Of The Knife. But .... given that it was recorded digitally, and the fact that they've crammed everything onto a single disc, the soundscape gets a bit lost in places. As someone else has alluded to, this really should have been spread onto 2 discs, but I'm not wholly convinced that it would have improved it that much, but I guess we'll never know. It's quite surprising that MFSL didn't address this on their 2012 reissue, as they have done with other prior single disc releases (The Nightfly for eg). A lot of the drum sounds (apart from the aforementioned) are hard for me to listen to, due to the digital replication, which is a shame. Having said all that, it's still worth having for the audio highs that are certainly evident, just not consistent.

If anyone has a better sounding vinyl version, I'd be interested to know.

I bought my copy on release as I enjoyed the first 2 albums so much. It’s taken me until now to appreciate side 2, always thought the tracks were superb on side one but just couldn’t get on with side 2; probably has something to do with being on the wrong side of 65 now and changing tastes in music.
I can only agree with other posts that this is a masterful recording, can’t fault it.

This is an awesome sounding pressing and the music is great. What more can you ask? I have number 07525.

My copy is flat, centered, and quiet. With increased power, it went from sounding a bit "dense" to highly dynamic. Very large, balanced, warm, and detailed soundstage. Super enjoyable play copy that delivers sonically.

An amazing sounding record. The soundstage is wide and deep. Oletta's vocals are rich and punchy. The rest of the record sounds truly amazing. I love the way TFF records vocals.
