Lenny Kravitz – Are You Gonna Go My Way

Honestly, this pressing is not bad at all. I was expecting worse.

One of my favorite albums of the 90's, hands down. And this is the only place to get the bonus track cd--sadly, most of the cd's have been separated from the LP at this point.

Classic Lenny. Great-sounding pressing. Bass is warm and thick. Drums punch through the mix. The overall sound is very inviting and analogue which nicely compliments the album's 70s aesthetic. It's one of those albums that should really be experienced on vinyl.

Now this takes me back. Superb pressing with a very analog sound. I seem to recall Kravitz used analogue equipment for recording and it wouldn’t surprise me at all. Lovely full bass with clear mids and highs. Dynamic and a joy to listen to. One of the best I’ve heard from a modern pressing.

I have the original CD I bought when this first came out, but this vinyl version is perfect for this kind of music. I can’t recommend it enough.

I know a lot of people have criticised their pressing, so maybe I was lucky or Universal sorted it out? No pops or clicks. It was a bit dusty, but a quick clean sorted that out.

So my barcode matches this version. But it’s not split colour.
The first LP is red. The second is purple. Anyone else have this version?? I purchased from independent record store…

This album sounds better today then it did when it was first released and has aged very well. A mainstream album that was rooted so much in early 70s classic rock, funk and psychedelia is standard today but this production was against the norm in 1993. I listened to this cos I bought the CD as a young teenager and just checked it out of nostalgia. I wasn't expecting much, but I really enjoyed it, so much so, I bought a 1st pressing vinyl LP.

UPDATE: This pressing is absolutely amazing and is the benchmark as to why music should be heard on vinyl.

Very bad pressing, lots of cracks and pops, Sounds like a terrible secondhand albums which was given poor attention thru the years.
Even the oldest album in mine collection sounds better. Tried 3 copy's all of them the same. All 3 versions were even not flat.

This is a great sounding and well pressed reissue that is well worth picking up for fans of this album. The songs all sound about as good as they possibly can and I did not experience any sound quality issues or distortion. A lot of these songs, of course, are kind of low-fi by design, so you have to prepare your expectations as such. The bonus LP, which is the “first time on vinyl” portion of this release, is basically an entire extra album with some different versions of album tracks as well as tracks not included on the original album that are just as good as the rest and would sound totally at home in the original track list. Definitely a nice treat. The gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeves are nice heavy quality with decent looking artwork. The only issue that I had with my copy was that both LPs were covered in white paper specks cemented into the grooves which required a deep wet cleaning to remove before playing. Otherwise, this is a terrific release and I totally recommend it.
