Hi Everyone
I'm a new member of the group, Ray from Dublin and spend plenty of my down time (too much according to my wife) away from the horrors of work lost in music. I've bought music from Mick Chillage who I see posting here, Si Matthews, Lee Norris, Dr.Atmo to name a few.
I am 50 now so was around in early 90's and was a big fan of FSOL, The Orb, Eat Static but somehow the music released by FAX ed me by except maybe Fires of Ork and S.H.A.D.O Its funny how you think you know something about music but you can only know a small bit (speaking for myself). I was lucky enough to be in Berlin a few weeks ago and headed into Oye Records but didnt recognise any of the music in the "house" section. The scale of releases across what is a massively diverse genre continues to surprise me. I walked out with an Agitation Free record.
As for FAX I managed to buy 62 Eulengasse, Silence 5, Evolution of Move D, Moog 5, Autumn of Communion from Mick and have a few more CDs on order but its going to be an expensive business to go about buying FAX releases in 2023. I really like from my limited knowledge Silence which I've listened to maybe a dozen times since buying a flac from Silent State Records. I know I could buy all the releases on Silent State for €5 each but its not the same as having the CD.
Is buying FAX CDs in the wild a non-runner in 2023 due to their original limited release. I know I can buy here (some releases so expensive & the bloody postage) and from Michael in for AW etc but it would be nice to see some in used stores.
I have learned so much from reading the various threads on this Group so thank you to everyone who has put up information. There is an overwhelming number of releases on FAX and the various sub labels.
Sorry about the long post but I read so much here and never post anything its nice to know there are other fans out there. Have a great weekend.

There are quite a few people in this FAX forum that have bought collections in the last 10-20 years
that were probably just filling holes, but most definitely have spare copies of a good amount of the discography.
Unfortunately, I don't recall which s have these collections, but if you are lucky, maybe one of them
will see this post and sell you some cd's. The best thing to do is go back a few years in this forum and see
if you can dig up any information. I seem to recall seeing a few people with spares. That would be your best
bet. If you decide to purchase them individually, it will take you at least 3-5 years to find them all, and a good
portion of them will be super inflated in price. I would check out Ebay too. Sometimes you can find a good deal
on there. Good luck!! -

Thanks for the reply. That would be cool, CDs have gone up in price if you are not looking for standard rock or pop titles. I like buying direct from Bandcamp so the people making the music get some money. -

Hi , back in the early 1990`s i used to buy almost every Fax cd released, but over the years i sold a lot of them because personally i found a few of them to be a bit weak, wishy washy and unimaginative sounding. Don`t get me wrong there are loads of excellent FAX cd releases ,i have quite a few currently in storage but it`s just some of it isn`t to my personal taste.
One of my favourite ever Fax releases is the first SILENCE cd by Namlook and Dr Atmo just titled SILENCE. The track Omid / Hope from that album is a masterpiece.
I don`t know if you`re into any of the releases on the label em:t but there are some good cd releases on that label that have a similar feel to Fax releases.
One of my favourite em:t releases is 0095 by GAS. It features the classic track Microscopic that is another electronic masterpiece.
Both tracks i mentioned are up on Youtube. Definitely worth checking out if you don`t already know them.
Good luck and happy hunting.
Cheers. -

Thanks very much, Silence is unbelievably good. I bought Dr Atmo Lost Tapes last year and it's really good too. Gets better with each listen. I will check out em:t label, I know GAS but not well. Have a great day
