I'm fairly new to PF's work, and I have listened to Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall (their most well known albums, from what I know) and I was wondering where I should go next.
What's their best album from the 1967-72 era?
What's their best album from 1973-94 era? (apart from the ones I've listened to)
Just wondering, I'm loving what I'm hearing so far! :)
My personal favourite from the 67-72 era is their first one, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, although I like all of them. It's very different from what followed and not all Floyd fans like it. As for 73-94, Animals is well worth checking out if you have heard the well known ones. Do be sure to check out all their albums though. Sure some might not be your personal taste, but you never know. Have fun exploring.
These two would have been my suggestion, and in that order. Meddle is one of their best. Not much of a fan of their work after the break-up though. Check out More too.
Hackurr it really depends upon which iteration of PF you in which you have an interest. I think the best snapshot of 67-72 might be Relics. These are a mix of singles and album cuts from the Syd Barrett era of the Floyd.
