Codes on innersleeves: are there any guides / websites explaining them?

Many innersleeves seem to have alpha numeric or numeric codes which are possibly a printing date and probably reveal more information.

Examples are:

TNI 1224-8.71 (comes with a record that is from around October/November 1971)

39 / 71

Are there any guides or websites that explain codes like these in detail?
