The flagrant back-to-back subs of "not on label (self released)" and CD-R with online store and auction site repo'd images and it's shonky data seem to be the rogue's toolkit. One person sees an with 1000s of listings of this manner, and thinks it's okay to spatter litres of inherited effluent onto our golden sandy shore. The failure demand it creates is horrendous and miles apart from spirit of collaboration and teamwork principles we value here.
I've been branded as hysterical for saying this aloud, and confronting folk - assertively, not inflammatory or derogatory in nature. You can't be "1.10.1. pleasant" (or whichever rule it its? 1.10.2) all the time. Some people just don't respond to it. Waaaahhhhh.

Forgive me whilst I philosophise and wax poetic here, and tap into the collective mind. Why do you think there's less challenges these days to these sort of accouts? 3 or 4 years ago a abusing the website like this would've got tossed into CIP fast.
Might it be fears of reprisals due to techology's heinous reach nowadays... doxxing, all manner of pandemonium at one's finger tips.. Where even the mightiest finds there knees knocking together at the thought of an unhinged creature of which you truly are under their skin. Are we all a bit afraid of opening pandora's box for tellin someone to pack it in else they're out on their arse?

I like a little bit of "ooh, he might not actually own that, but the data is good, maybe he does!" I think when the data is full and it's absolutely a proxy sub, then fine.
It's a difficult precedent to set, especially when there are releases that would likely never make it to here otherwise. I think it's when someone abuses it like it's their own personal space, like a geocities or skyblog and they're lifting data from every angle and scrutinizing absolutely sod all. That's what geo-ship, keepa, Google Alerts are for. Not Discogs.
