Edited 4 years agoDisappointingly, one of my favorite albums ever has never been perfectly represented digitally (though RCA's West German / European CD from 1984 comes pretty damn close). The 1977 UK vinyl features a detailed liveliness and satisfying tonal balance that, for one reason or another, has tended to feel slightly "off" in every subsequent reissue. There's something sonically perfect about this original pressing -- certainly helps that Visconti's production is brilliant to begin with. I cherish my copy and would move mountains to forever continue owning one.
