I’ve always been more of a Bob Welsh/Danny Kirwan FM guy, but this record is amazing. Very subtle and tasteful production by LB, but with enough new tricks (for the 80s) to keep you interested. Great songs and singing and playing by everyone. Pressing is flawless!

"Rumours" was certainly their biggest selling, and "Tusk" the most artistically accomplished and forward thinking, but as a die-hard fan of the Mac, I'm not afraid to it that I listen to "Mirage" the most.
It's not exactly pioneering, and it's return to more radio-friendly sounds and subsequent underperformance in sales seems to vindicate Buckingham on "Tusk." But the songs only get better with time. This was the final Fleetwood Mac album where each of the three songwriters pulled their weight and songs like "Gypsy," "Hold Me," and "Book of Love" deserve consideration on any FM greatest hits list.
Having said all that, the album is desperately in need of some type of remastering and reissue on vinyl. "Rumours" and "Fleetwood Mac" have both gotten the reissue treatment, and the fact that "Tusk" and (to a lesser degree) "Mirage" haven't is a real shame. -
Amazing that a brilliant song like 'gypsy' and an absolute clunker like 'oh diane' can occupy the same LP. Such is the polarity of Fleetwood Mac I suppose.
