Just received the set today. The overall presentation is excellent. Can’t comment just yet on the vinyl but the first album is excellent so if the rest are the same then I’ll be very happy. To top it off I got this on sale through Amazon for $311.

Regarding the thin plastic album covers that the albums are packaged in .....I believe some plastics (PVC, cellophane?) can damage record covers and even seep through the paper and 'cloud' the vinyl over time. as discussed many times on the Discogs forum.
Would any collectors/sellers recommend removing the said covers from this collection or leave on as I would imagine it could add value if left intact? -
This box set sounds shockingly great!! I was expecting it to be just good- but no, this is a really great sounding for most albums! Yes, the quality of the individual outer jackets are terrible but what matters is the sound. This has punch without being overly heavy on highs or lows. Great EQ and it mostly has an analog vibe to it. Dead quiet discs! I think this is a no brainer opportunity to have all studio records of one of the most amazing rock bands ever!

I have an original Queen Jazz, and this reissue is very similar. Maybe a little better overall. Quiet Vinyl too. I compared the Queen Self Titled from the box set against the digital version, again close, but the vinyl did breath more. I am on the opposite side of people who are saying this box set is bad.

Not sure what penny arcade system the reviewers here are judging this box set on, but i have a pretty high end system and consider myself an experienced judge of all mediums of music, this box set i have from EU blows away every previous Queen lp out there, was reluctant to purchase seeing that it is coloured vinyl but the half speed mastering on this set is pure pleasure to my ears, ( and i'm judging this review on more than just a comparison of queen 2 )
The detail of Queens sound is captured on all 15 lps and the coloured vinyl is just a bonus as they've come a long way from the coloured vinyl pressed in the 70s, do yourself a favour and pick up this set if you are a fan like me and im sure you won't be disappointed. -
I've had EMI CDs back in the 80's, owned MFSL CDS and LPs, even went around the block getting original Elektra and EMI Lps whenever possible, even promo 12" of Queen whenever I could. When things like Record Store Day and hush-hush limited reissues come out, this turns out to be an instant far and wide most every LP of Queen you may own. The box is made very well with a paperboard outer cover and a "cigarette box" style thick 'flip top' box in gold. Inside are the Lps, every studio LP they released in mock-original labels by Virgin records in the UK. There are no shoddy Hollywood Records cuttings in this box, but Abbey Road cut remasters done at half-speed that retain and make good use out of the dynamics of the master tapes, compiled in the digital domain and pressed at Optimal. Make no mistake; I've heard it all. All of it sounds fantastic. The box compiles all the Virgin UK remasters of recent date but with colored vinyl and lined paper sleeves that the printed ones originally inside. Two complaints though, because these jackets are UK made, you might experience 1/8" top seam splits, from being shipped. "Day At The Races" in BLACK standard vinyl is made from a decently quiet stamper, but it looks like it may have gotten damaged while pressings were done. Again, it only looks inperfect. The hard cover book is fantastic and makes the purchase well worth it past the price you might pay at Amazon. This box, being available in the states, makes a lot of extra charges of shipping and such go away. The box is fantastic. Get it before it goes rogue and super pricey.

Beside the barcode of the outer slip case, is there any difference between the US and the EU version of this boxset or were all LP's pressed at Optimal in ?
