I guess there's nothing "modern" anymore about the Modern Jazz Quartet, given this was released in '56. That's it, it's a solid album on brand with this group.
The title track, "Django", really hits the spot as a dark moody swinger. Track A2 is a suite of individual instrument features, and very fun to hear.
For its age, this record sounds quite good.
