Recently picked up a copy from Amazon. Black, not 180g. Record 1 has a lot of superficial swirls and such, the record itself has some pops and crackles. Kinda upset as this album is an incredibly emotional ride for me and bought it with the hope that the record would shine bright and clear. Record 2 (sides C and D) is much cleaner and has no superficial imperfections.

Mine I just got, triple crown records 3099-1 2006 Sounds really great but has superficial blistering around the first track both sides.
No noise so I have mixed emotions. The music I love, I bought this album blind on cd when it released and was very pleased with its haunting subtleties and intense emotion. From the unplugged sounding acoustics to the artwork, I almost felt as though I knew them, I had friends when I was young who lived on farms and in farmhouses and it all seems comfortable to me and I relate incredibly to the album cover for some reason, the old Halloween masks and chipped paint ect. It feels like parts of my childhood and internal dreamscapes of past relationships and losses. Even the untitled track what sounds to be a little sister messing with audio equipment is nostalgic. The This is the perfect introductory album for anyone curious about Brand New considering I gave deja entendu a listen and own Daisy and neither of those albums gave me the same warm down home vibe or want. Proud to have this album on vinyl now. -
Edited 8 years agoI have two copies that I purchased new. BOTH have an insane amount of surface noise. I thought it may just be the coy I had, but then I bought the second copy only to encounter the same insane amount fo noise. Wet washes, carbon fiber brushes, new stylus...nothing helped. Just an awful pressing in my experience. -
My version of this reprint was purchased at Urban Outfitter and was filthy and has a weird production error where its very "hilly" and it looks like there are air bubbles trapped between the layers. I dont know how to describe it better than this; however, I am going to try to the store or Triple Crown to see about getting it replaced. The sound in the right channel fades in and out as well... they need more quality control. -
This album has reappeared on Triple Crown's store. Does anyone know if it's more copies of this pressing or a new pressing? -
