Edited one month agoIn my opinion, a great album. The closest Punk ever came Prog Rock and Synth Pop at once. :-D
The tension stays throughout the whole thing. Pick one up, if you stumble across. -
Sadly the album fails a bit on the last song, "School Mam" is no Down In The Sewer part 2. How much better it would have been if they had included "In The Shadows" instead of saving it for Black & White.

Time for a reissue on vinyl for regular record stores. Ideally a red vinyl pressing with a white/red UA logo label on EMI (or the wreath label), as there's never been a coloured vinyl issue.
Even better would be a 5.1 BRA/DVDA/SACD option. -
Edited 5 years agoIts hard to believe this, and other Stranglers releases, have only ever had one (official) release on vinyl in the UK. Does anyone know why this is?

Mine is a 77 original but doesn't have the Jonz, Hong Kong, or hand-carved references on the rounout
