Edited 5 years agoI just love the interesting picture of Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen here on the front of “Dancing In The Dark”!! Now, you might think The Boss is jumping for joy, but you would be mistaken as that is not the case. I read an article by the lady who took the picture and she said that the picture was a complete lucky fluke. “The Boss” was originally posing in a quite macho stance with a smoldering and seductive look on his face (much like on the cover of “The River”) when suddenly a small mouse emerged and ran across the floor of the old house they were doing the photo shooting in. As you know, “The Boss” is terrified of mice and other small rodents such as voles, and so he leapt up in the air as he was very frightened. His sudden movement made the photographer jump too, and as she did her finger flinched, clicking the button and taking a picture in the process. The result is what you see used on the cover of “Dancing In The Dark”. And although they laugh about it now she said in the interview, at the time “The Boss” was very panic-stricken and had to immediately abandon the photo shoot and go to a local Wendy’s restaurant for a strong cup of coffee and a nice sit down.
