The sound of this version is unbelievable. I had another vinyl version to compare, non-CB cutting (the vinyl tracks are visually different), an although the sound is always excellent, it is my conviction that this 2014 wins the sound battle. Once this issue was settled, one can than go into the performances of Mr Cash, which are nothing but spectacular and wonderful. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face did not bring tears to my eyes because I did let them to win.

Great album, with gatefold cover. The recording is sonically good and has many of Johnny's hits on it. The vinyl is great with minimal surface noise.

Edited 5 years agoHi vinyl lovers, Can anybody tell me that this is a gatefold covered album .This edition I mean..
I saw it''s printed inner sleeves but a gatefold would make it perfect, cause I still got 'The Best of Johhnny Cash' (BTB-series) and 'At Folsom Prison' (Legacy)(Brown vinyl). Both 2x180gram and gatefold. His favourite albums to me. Now with this as a 3rd gatefold I'd be happy.. Thanks! -

Side D of my copy has been pressed with side B of Free – Free Live. Not sure if anyone else has this also? I can't find anyone else reporting the same issue.

Looking for on the quality of this pressing. Sounds very crisp in the higher freqs to my ear. Some serious distortion in several tracks; mastered too hot??
This is not the first time I have been unimpressed with the Back to Black pressings. Same problem in fact. I get the sense these pressings are being sent to market with very little consideration and quality control. Shame as the musical production on this record is as good as it gets. Wish Rick Rubin would get involved with the QC on the reissue.
