Jori Hulkkonen's debut, SELKÄSAARI TRACKS, is a delicious taste of things to come from the talented Finn. "Flavatanssit" moves from its bleepy intro to some warm tech-house, while "Sumthing" starts out as house and stays in that vein. "Blane Tudor’s Theme" keeps a thrum running under the percussion, while the bell tones on "The Vinci" add a certain brightness. "3rd Line" maintains the perky mood, while "Selkäsaari" does for a darker slant. "Heights" goes all-in for its 10 minutes, drawing out its elements, but it's "Cum Off It" that really stands out, with its combination of a driving beat and atmospheric Detroit-like chords. A herald of things to come.

For that time, this was very serious and inovative recording. Jori introduce us to sounds which are now common in modern electronic house & deep house music. Must listen for all you newbie composers outthere!
