Notes

Label variation, the font and use of lower-case letters for "Set No. 2657 013" rather than "SET No. 2657 013."

Mastering variant, with no "TML" lacquer stamp present. This version has mostly "slashes" (//) rather than deltas (▽) in runouts. Runouts are stamped, "S2-MCA 362" is etched.

Issued in a gatefold cover with 44-page black-and-white booklet affixed inside gatefold, with "Track Deluxe Double" and set number 2657 013 on spine.

The first issues were printed by Euro-Albums Holland B.V. and have a soft, almost pastel grey finish whereas later issues look "blacker."

Very first pressings have a "delta" (▽) in each runout matrix of the four sides. Subsequent pressings have usually two "slashes" (//) in one (or two) of the runout matrix of the four sides.

First issue early pressings have predominantly "1" or "2" matrices and "1" or low-number stampers in runouts of each side (e.g., record 1 side B: 2406110 B▽1).

Recorded at "The Kitchen" in Thessally Road, Battersea, while building was still in progress.
Ronnie "Lane's Mobile Sound" served as control room while ours was being finished.
Mixed at Eel Pie Sound.

Forget Tommy, this is the definitive Who rock opera!
Superb pressing, I’ve owned my copy over 40 years and it still plays faultlessly.
