This would be an incredible RSD release if they mimicked the original release and made no changes. Incredible.

Edited one year agoNo one out-Sheps Shep Pettibone! No one! But Shep does out-Murk Murk here! The Murk Boys dish out a bunch of solid Murk-esque’, dirty-disco type mixes and dubs (the “Miami Mix” being the main dish, and the “Back To The Dub 2” being the secret hot sauce), not unlike what was done for RuPaul’s “Back To My Roots” around the same time period. If you listen to the original album cut, you can hear immediately that the track was primed and ready for a Murk Boys post-production. Perhaps a very competitive Mr. Pettibone foresaw this, and in anticipating this likelihood, beat the Boys at their own sound, because lets’s face it, Shep was doing really “murky” baselines (at least since 89’) before the “Murk-sound” even came along. I can’t if Sheppy announced his retirement right after this release, but honey, what a way to go out if he did. He lit dance floors aflame (helping give Madonna her 15th #1 Club hit), leaving everyone to break out in a hot sweat indeed 🥵🔥!

Edited 5 years agoMy first purchase ever on Discogs back in 2006! It cost $15 and I thought it was quite expensive for a used record, but I had never even heard of a 2x12" of this single, let alone on red vinyl, so I hit the Buy button without even knowing the shipping cost (US to Sweden) but it was a lot cheaper than it is today.
