Finally picked up this UK pressing of The Slider. It’s so much better than original/early Canadian and US Reprise pressings.
-
Found one of these after a long search .. i have the demon clear vinyl which sounded good but this blows it out the water . much fatter and punchier
mine has a touch of surface noise here and there but otherwise is great . happy with it , harder to find clean ones now as it is 50+ years old -
There is a rare UK variant where the sleeve is just black and white, as no red was added to the lettering. Only a few copies sneaked out and are now worth a pretty penny.

I have a copy with David Clementson etched on the runout of side 1. I can’t find a version on Discogs with it mentioned. Does anyone have ideas?

ive got this copy but there is no trex below (written and composed by marc bolan) on the A side.
but the matrix on the runout is identical
can someone explain this at all ? -
Got this one, and another allmost identical, but without T.REX on label. It also has a flip back cover.

Edited 10 years agoAccording to Discogs data base - EMI did not exist as a label until 1973. It should not be added as a label to any release before that date. Furthermore it should not be added as a label on any release with a primary branded label such as His Master's Voice, Columbia or Parlophone etc as the boxed EMI logo that appears with the primary label simply implies that the label was part of the EMI Group, not that EMI was a label # Record company appears printed on sleeve and labels as E.M.I (The Gramophone Co. Ltd ) as E.M.I. Ltd was created in 1973 by the renaming of The Gramophone Co. Ltd . According to Wikipedia the release date was 21 July 1972 for Slider..
