While essentially a rewrite of T. Rex's classic "Metal Guru," "Panic" contains enough sly humor and catchy singalong potential to stand on its own. The listener's personal bias will dictate whether the appropriation constitutes homage or theft. The b-side is a bit of a letdown, as it contains only a track from the previous LP "The Queen is Dead" and a mildly interesting, moody instrumental.
