If you've ever wondered how good Closing Time could actually sound, seek out this one. vibrant and airy remastering, without the excessive noise reduction that's plaguing the current remasters. Pressing quality is also flawless.

Mmh, may it be that "CB" Chris Bellmann is the one outstanding mastering engineer who knows how to deal with iconic albums???
The new remasters are such terribly bad, but even If they were okay... this is the one to get hold of. Anyone think different?
What a beautiful first release, and sounding such... just right. Thanks Mr. Waits', thanks Mr. Mastering ☺️ -
Edited one year agoA masterpiece. I’ve had this reissue for around 12-13 years and it’s been used and abused over the years. I’ve probably played it a hundred times and it sounds just like new. Not a pop or click. Exemplary in every way, buy it if you see it.

Edited one year agoI am not very familiar with this album in other formats but I can say this LP sounds really good.
Note: it seems the first batch was a disaster. Mine is the second one made by Chris Bellman.
Edit: sounds better than german pressing from 79.
