This is the European pressing, pressed by Record Industry with 19802876231 on hype sticker.
The US pressing ( Memphis Record Pressing instead.
Released in a matte gatefold sleeve with high gloss photographs inside.
Comes with two printed paper inner sleeves and a giant 90 × 60 cm fold-out movie poster, folded into six s.
The numeral parts of the runout strings are stamped, the 2nd parts beginning with "MILES..." are etched.

I've gotten three Copies of this Album and all of them had Issues. One was a Factory Defect and had terrible surface noise on side B, the Next Copy sounded very good but was slightly warped, and The Latest Copy Sounds so Flat and has constant surface noise during Side A. Did anyone else experience similar issues? Other than that this album is incredible.

I bought a US copy, and it was a disaster: the records were scratched, dirty, and the listening experience was extremely unpleasant, with crackling noises from start to finish on all four sides.
I gave in and bought the European pressing. Even though it’s not perfectly silent, the listening experience is enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend this pressing, having tested both versions. -
I nearly didn’t buy this after reading poor reviews about the quality, but mine is perfect, couldn’t be better.

Edited one day agoMy US copy of this album plays perfectly. Imo, this was peak Floyd. After this it was mostly downhill. -
Fun fact: MCMLXXII* is the Roman numeral representation for the year 1972.
Incorrect title if recorded in the Roman Amphitheatre at Pompeii, 4-7 October 1971 ?
*It combines the values of M (1000), CM (900), L (50), X (10), and II (2) to total 1972. -
I think some people are overreacting in saying the EU/UK pressing is better. I’d like to say that there’s absolutely 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 wrong with my U.S. pressing. It plays perfectly without even cleaning it first. The sound quality is phenomenal and loud with no surface noise. Zero complaints. -
Finally, an official vinyl release of Pink Floyd at Pompeii — and it sounds absolutely spectacular. Steven Wilson has worked his usual magic here: the mix is stunningly detailed, with a massive improvement in overall clarity and presence. Nick Mason’s drums, in particular, have never sounded this good — punchy, dynamic, and full of life. This pressing is a must-have for any Floyd collector or audiophile. Simply unmissable. -
Such a historical document of musical history. Such a good pressing. Such a beautiful design. -
