I bought this track when it came out from Eastern block Manchester. The track sold a lot of copies at the time but was not put on the UK chart release, their for didn't chart but probably would have made it quite high.

The price of this record nowadays is mental. I bought a VG+ copy of this off Discogs for £6 back in 2010 and now they are going for £60!! One of the best piano house tunes of all in my opinion.

I have this on some 4 track bootleg white label I bought on eBay in about 2000 - called Black Velvet 1! I can see this is gonna mix so great with 20 seconds to comply (have it on 7")!
2 of the other 3 tracks on the bootleg are Criminal Minds Baptised by Dub and Fugees DJ Hype remix - no bad! for 1 disc! -
Yes always go for the Hibrid mix! As for the Truly happy mix, yeah ok, but a little too much noise! If you don’t like piano why even bother with this tune?

Best Version Hands Down (Or Up!!!) Is Closer To All Your Dreams (Hibrid Mix)...Played At Raven 6 And Everywhere Else! Play It Loud And Rush Your Nuts Off...As A Footnote Someone Here Refers To The Tune As Cheesy? That Is One Thing This Tune Is Not, So It Might Not Be To Everybody's Taste But Calling It Cheesy Is A Tad Harsh For What Is A Great Track..

Edited 20 years agoMuch has been raved about the Hibrid Mix of Closer To All Your Dreams, and it IS a classic tune from hardcore’s glorious 1992, even without sounding extremely 1992-like. The first break has the Mariah Carey sample over piano and strings, then the bass and the drums simultaneously kick in, and that might make for a climax on almost any dancefloor.
The two other tunes on this record often go unnoticed, yet deserve a mention as well.
The Piano Mix builds upon a formula tested by Bizarre Inc., Dream Frequency et al., profits from neat production, and the piano featured is really nice (not the same one as in the Hibrid Mix).
The Dream People is clearly the most hardcore tune of the pack. It’s dark, has nasty synths and uptempo breakbeats, and production-wise it is in touch with the leaders of the scene in early ’92.
