Déjà Vu was the first album Crosby, Stills & Nash released following the addition of Neil Young to the group, and was greatly anticipated after the popularity of the first CSN album.
Some noted the influence of Buffalo Springfield, Stills and Young's previous band, notably in the closing song "Everybody I Love You" and the inclusion of a segment of the unreleased Springfield song "Down Down Down" within Young's "Country Girl."
