APPROACHING LIGHT SPEED was recorded in August and September of 1983 at Triad Studios, Des Moines, Iowa. Tom Tucker and Barnabas produced, with Tom on the switches. John Hurst ably assisted. The Control Voice on "Waiting For the Aliens" was provided by Bob Cook.

"This version of "All Alone" was recorded during the Approaching Light Speed sessions for inclusion on that album, but a minor contractual fracas forced us to bump the song at the last minute and replace it with "Crucifixion". The tape spent the next seventeen years lost and forgotten in a closet in the Southern California Desert, and no one has heard it until now."
