Edited one year agoMy copy is flawless. Quiet and super dynamic. Thank you Ryan K Smith!!!!! Job well done sir. Oh and I love the music, great album by the Pumpkins, a real ride. Not sure I understand the whining, 'fans' who want them to keep making albums make that are another Siamese Dream or MCIS.

Edited one year agoJust working through this record. I loved the CD so invested in the record. It has a lot of loud pops even after an ultrasonic clean. A good mark/ scratch on record two. Pressings today are not made with love.

Edited one year agofar from the best BC' work (very far), not the worth but nearly (CYR), some "good" songs (very few). Sometimes, if you close your eyes, you can imagine watching an old bad SF Film. But i'll probably buy the nextAlbum : I'm an optimist

This ATUM edition is undeniably a work of beauty, epitomizing the painstaking attention to detail and contemplation invested in its design and ultimate presentation. Now, let us delve into the pivotal aspect: the records arrived flawlessly flat, impeccably centered, albeit with occasional clicks and pops. Nevertheless, fortunately, the mixing and mastering process for this edition is nothing short of remarkable. The songs possess an exceptional clarity and sonic definition. Despite the aforementioned minor drawbacks, I have no qualms about my purchase. 3 out of 5 stars.

What happened to this band? Three guitars and one of the best drummer ever and they are releasing some electronic shit that no one cares about. Unlistenable, and please Billy, don't link it with masterpieces like Mellon Collie and Machina. Everything since comeback after Machina was pretentious, but the last three efforts of Billy Corgan Solo Project, which SP became, is laughable. Waiting for a hip hop album now, because why not.

Clean it. Then clean it again. Then maybe once more for good measure. I did a dry brushing, then a wet cleaning with 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and distilled water and then a final rinse with just distilled water. This thing was NOISY AF!
But after all that effort, what you’ll end up with sounds wonderfully full and dynamic. There are still some pops and clicks here and there, but I’m honestly glad I took a chance on this edition. I’ll echo many others comments in being disappointed there is nothing by way of lyrics and linear notes. Musically this album is a grower that continues to reveal more and more with every listen and deserves the attention that sitting down with a record often affords. Buy it while you can, the reviews are mostly positive now but I think this album will only become more accepted over time. -
Just realised that my disc one has two Side A labels? Does anyone else have this? Also discs were all very dirty and covered in paper scuffs - luckily not affecting playback but there is a lot of crackling on the quieter sections

Discs were very dirty. Sound quality is pretty good. For some reason there is no booklet or lyrics included.

So interesting that my Special Edition boxset contains a track by track breakdown of the "plot" for every song, character, and who is "singing" each track, plus lyrics...and the regular editions DON'T. That seems like something that maybe more than 1000 copies should have if more people wanted to dive into the plot of this sucker (which is hardly obvious listening to the tracks alone.)
-
I'm going to be picky and say: why no lyric bookket? It would have been nice....
Sounds pretty good, not amazing but overall a nice listening with minimal surface noise in places.
