My copy (found in an outdoor dollar bin, no less) is dead silent and the sound is excellent, notwithstanding the slightly distorted mix characteristic of Columbia LPs. Can’t go wrong with a Mahavishnu OP.

To call John McLaughlin the Hank Marvin of the 1970s is deliberate The-Sun-tabloid-esque slandering. He was beyond that; As Miles Davis puts, McLaughlin is "the killer who knows everything" in of music. He would go from savage music to interesting easy listening classical music in any second in this album; that shows you The McLaughlin, the explorer of his own right.
