Hi there, after the amazing documentary, 'Looking For Sugarman' aired last night on SBS TV, Australia, where the musician Rodriguez, could not make a career of his amazing tunes, and was a construction worker in Detroit for 25 years, until on day the bootleg cassette that had made its way to South Africa, reached critical mass, and he ended doing about ten triumphant tours of that country - where kids had learned his songs at their mother's teat. This was amazing for another reason, who was profiting from this man's songs; a lesson for us all. My Rodriguez - Cold Fact [great line when it is sung - and my favourite] is a Blue Goose Stereo BGM 002; so are there any more musicologist detectives out there who can shed light for both Kaz and me? Over to you.

Confusion re Cold Fact vinyl released by Blue Goose. The code BMG 1000 on the cover with the address of South Yarra, Melbourne on back. But the label on the vinyl is BLUE BEAT. I've read Blue Beat was a subsidery and also a bootleg. But have read it was either a 1977 release before the 1978 release with Blue Goose label on the vinyl, or 1986 rerelease. Confusing. Then was told when i had to reluctantantly take it to a dealer to sell yesterday, that it wasn't an original and was only a year or two old. He gave me $10. He said for a VG condition cover and cos he said it played 'only ok' . But there were hardly any surface scratching. But he compiles to sell only top of the top record playing systems. So! Was i blatantly lied to!? Can someone advise please. He shnwed me an example of BMG 002 release with Blue Goose label on the vinyl to further confuse. Was i ripped off badly? Kinda hope not as needing money for medical costs.
