Just bought this; a “non-essential” from my perspective, prior to purchase, and BOY was I wrong!
I bought the OG LAMF back in 1980/81, after avoiding it at full price in the Glasgow record shops 4 years before (it was full price, and I heard it “sounded shite”), the start of a love affair with that amazing LP that’s lasted to this day.
I’ve got the 2CD remastered mix from around 2013, the remastered pink LP from the same time, the later “found” remaster, and now this...
Now THIS LP is where the gold really is (mostly)....
This album of compiled recordings sound FRESH, cos most of them are unadorned with the sludge that builds with songs recorded and mixed too many times (hey, I LOVE LAMF, okay?!).
The versions here sound vital, and energetic - and serve as a FANTSATIC example of just HOW GOOD The Heartbreakers really were.
And just how good was that?
Well with the exception of the Sex Pistols LP, this collection and LAMF itself still stands head and soulders above almost ALL of the Punk Rock recorded in London 1976-77.
Better that The Damned’s debut, and also better that The Clash, and The Jam’s first LPs.
THIS is the kind of high octane/ well-played/ well written rock n’ roll that those/most bands could only dream of.
Even better than LAMF then?
Well ...just maybe.

Just received the LP today and it keeps spinning on my turntable for the entire day. It's quite different to all the other (incl. original) L.A.M.F. record. It's stunning, that these DEMOS sound much more classy then the originally released L.A.M.F. Album. It has a 60s touch (e.g. Beatles were stated earlier) but with such a great punk-attitude, that this I wold call a hard rocking, street gang like, garage Rock'n'Roll! The Heartbreakers own Songs (in particular from Walter) are just great, time-less and could be listened to every day. These gives the "shake" and the the hard rocking "roll". Walters solos are just some of the finest you could hear at this time in the 70s. JT's riffs, sometimes Keith Richards like, are just unique and you can tell from the spot, that it's JT! A must have for all L.A.M.F. fans!

Brilliant as always! Very pure and down to earth rock’n’roll. I love this album but have also bought the 2CD with demos that was released in 2021. It’s not enough! ;)

Played like a dream right outta the package. I've been a fan since So Alone....this demo LP sounds the best L.A.M.F. ever has. Luvin it. Get one.
