Edited 8 months agoWell, a worthy release as for me. The sound is great. There are some small distortions on piano here and there but nothing disturbing - I think the source isn’t in perfect condition nowadays. Otherwise sounds perfect - bold and wide.
The packaging is ok. The surface is mostly quiet - just a few occasional clicks on A1. Vinyl is quite dirty out of the sleeve, it has some dents and marks (hello, Third Man), but they are luckily not audible.
I have Audio Clarity version as well. The sound of Impulse release is certainly richer and the top end is more natural. -
I listened to this record/music for the first time last night and this version is glorious. My copy has none of the issues mentioned previously. The spindle hole was a bit tight but that’s it. The record still came off of the platter without too much difficulty. It is absolutely perfect and I’m so happy that this album has been reissued. Blue Nile is amazing and the highlight of the album for me . I’ve never heard the harp before in a jazz record. Looking forward to explore Alice’s other offerings after fully digesting this one.

Great copy sounds clear and warm enough.
Changed the inner sleeve and gave it a good wash now it’s shiny and silent. My copy is flat. Good. Instrument separation and clarity. In some parts some distortion and very minor crackling.

Got my copy at Tunnel Records (San Francisco), was in great shape when I opened it up. After a quick clean, this vinyl sounds amazing. Side A is just phenomenal, two of my favorite songs (regardless of genre).

My copy came out of the shrink with bits of the front cover art rubbed off? Looks like it got stuck to something or the jacket was rubbed against something sticky that also left some residue in random spots on the cover. Not impressed with the presentation.

Bought this in Europe in Mai 2023. Mine sounds fine, no issues. Mastering is great and the vinyl quality is very good (and for me not so far from an audiophile pressing). I would recommend this….
