The reviews posted made me really scared about this pressing, but I’m really satisfied with it. I think it sounds just fine. It did come a little warped (dish warp, as others have described), but that does not to seem to affect the sound quality at all. The mastering is phenomenal. Little to no pops or clicks. You get the expected inner-groove distortion on the songs “Woodstock” and “Everybody I Love You”, …but it’s vinyl after all, so that’s to be expected on any single LP pressing of this album.

Edited 4 months agoa very welcome replace my OG, and it’s gold
Textured jacket but the jacket isn’t heavy feels like flimsy cardboard at least they tried somewhat I guess -

Gorgeous mastering BUT.... rubbish pressing. There is constant background noise. Most of my coloured vinyl play as quietly as the black copies (some even quieter) but not this one. On Helpless and onwards through side 1 it gets out of hand and becomes a rotational loud hissing. Add to that its badly dish warped and its just not acceptable. Back it will have to go

Ok so this says it's an RSD Essentials edition released Sept. 9th, 2022? RSD is on Black Friday, Nov. 25th..

Edited 2 years agoMy just unsealed copy is nice and flat and has so little surface noise that even calling it crackle would be exaggerating. I did not clean it before playing. It is as quiet as I hoped it would be if not quieter. Only perfect would be better. But where is that? Mastering is excellent, very nice stereo imaging. I have a pretty nice original and to me the only difference is the gold color. I guess I lucked out and got a good one. Side one was played on a Pro-ject RPM1 Carbon, Audio Technica AT440mlb cartridge, Pro-ject phono box dc. Side two on a Ariston RD40, Ortofon OM40 cartridge, Pro-ject phono box MM. Both played through a Denon AVR 4308CI (pure direct stereo mode) and a pair of Altec Lansing 605a's.

The mastering here is incredible but, sadly, this pressing is extremely crackly even after TWO ultrasonic cleanings. I can only assume it’s a product of the gold pigment used. Ugh.

Mine is not warped, luckily. Sounds pretty good but I've got a good amount of surface noise. 8/10, possibly 6/10 with all the QC issues.
Edit: TONS of surface noise, I get it's colored vinyl but honestly gets in the way of how good it should sound. Ultimately I would avoid. -
EXTREMELY dish warped. Wasn't surprised after seeing it was pressed at Optimal. Hoping a replacement will fix the issue, but Optimal is always hit or miss with QC.
