Agree, nothing subtle in these grooves. It is LOUD as it should be. Midrange is prominent on the Japanese pressing. Similar in some respects to my US pressing (1E/1E) but I think the US has slightly tighter bass and is a little less balls to the wall. Comparing say, Kings and Queens, it's loud on both, but you can hear things like the banjo come through more in this pressing from Japan, but the plucked bass lines are tighter on the US pressing and it has a little more air. Cranking the Japanese pressing and you'll feel like you're back in the Garden on the 78 tour...

This Japanese pressing is a beauty (10/10). Although this is not a subtle LP, this pressing sounds extremely clean without the distortion and extra compression found in US pressings, and I have 2 very early US pressings, plus the 20 bit CD from the late 90s.
