Edited 2 years ago(It says “referencing the CD, but I’m actually referencing the vinyl LP version, although I own both).
As a longtime fan of both of these musicians and especially Ash Ra Tempel I was so happy to see this released, and purchased a vinyl copy as soon as I knew it existed. For those who wish to split hairs (or lean towards being a killjoy). technically, in their heyday back in the early 70s, Ash Ra Tempel was a different band than the one on this record. Back then, Klaus Schulze mainly played drums and only some electronics, and bassist Hartmut Enke is not present - which I guess is excusable since he quit the music biz soon after Ash Ra Tempel’s “ Inn” album released in 1973 (he ed away five years after this album was released, in 2005, at a relatively young age)
If this record wasn’t so damn good, and the quality of this German pressing so fantastic, I might have something to complain about, too. This is an excellent Klaus Schulze album, and this is an excellent Manuel Götsching album. Combining the two of them in what seems to me like a telepathic duo in a live setting, engineered by none other than Conny Plank - is brilliant, and is indeed an Ash Ra Tempel reunion! These three likely had as much of a blast making this album as I do during my frequent spinnings of this 3-sided album.
