Rating is for the pressing not the 5 star content. Terrible. The production here should envelop you: this is music intended to be immersive. This sounds like it’s coming through a tin can and a piece of string. I should have read the reviews here first, lesson learned!

Mine sounds great, certainly better than the original and didn’t need much of a clean either. Only negative is it should have been a gatefold. An album this good deserves to presented in the best way possible.

Edited 2 years agoI could tell this one was GZ before I even looked at the listing. Trademark crackle at beginning of Side A. Noise all over Sides B, C and D, too. Yes, it got a good wet clean - this is just a terrible pressing. The bass and dynamics seem nice when distracting noise isn't ruining the experience. This is as bad or worse, noise-wise than the GZ pressing of De-loused, at least that noise stops a minute into Side A. I've found beat up yard sale records with less surface noise than this new pressing. Avoid.

I wanted to own a copy of this album for a long time, but couldn't decide which pressing to get. When the 10th Anniversary edition was announced, I decided it is time to finally get it. i don't know if this is a poor pressing quality or they all sound the same, but the sonic part of the experience didn't impress me at all. The outer jacket could also have been better.

Three copies replaced. All of them with pops and scratches. And gave away the black one. I’m sick of the new pressings.

I wish this was a gatefold release instead of squeezed into one jacket, but this is a dope anniversary pressing. Hope it sounds as good as it looks!
