It was really silly to limit this to 2000 copies. This would have sold a lot more. I visit SDE and even missed this one that sold out in about 1 day. When the Blu-ray was getting a 2nd press there was talk of adding the 3 extra songs there as well as an instrumental version of the album, etc... and the flippers/fans got so upset that their "exclusive" would not be worth as much the extra content got left off... not really fans as much as "collectors" LOL.

What was the original retail on this? For frame of reference based on the resale prices.

I really hate deluxe editions. And this release is another reason to hate them even more. Unfair game towards the fans. Compressed record, brickwalled but not anything like Oasis, but mastering could be really much better. At the end of the day, it's a milestone release for TFF - very well written songs. curt and @Orzabal - how will we get these extra songs after this batch runs out? We can't simply be left with 2 thousand copies worldwide! This album is the first in, say, about 10 years in which absolutely a band gets all 13 songs right - absolutely nailed it. Seriously... this album saved the decade!

Does nobody even own the normal black vinyl record ? Barcode is 888072404137.
Gatefold sleeve and inner lyric sleeve but just arrived today via long standing pre order on Amazon uk.
Anyone apart from me got this ? No entry for it ?
What surely they're not all limited editions or coloured vinyl editions ?

Tears For Fears is that rare band that consistently puts out great music (not just good, but great).
Typing this while I'm listening to the album for the first time, my impression is WOW!
I don't know if Roland and Curt consciously set out to have each album sound different from the last. One can argue that trying to recapture the "sound" of previous successful albums is a fool's errand and hamstrings creativity. Regardless of whether that's a musical philosophy or just a function of artistic growth, this album sounds nothing like Everybody Loves a Happy Ending or any previous albums (all of which I love). Standouts: "My Demons", "Break the Man", "No Small Thing".
"Rivers Of Mercy" could have been off Peter Gabriel's "So" album (a phenomenal album). "Master Plan" could have been off "Let It Be". Absolutely fantastic album. Not a single weak track.
With the unbelievable scariness and hate and turmoil in the world (specifically the invasion of Ukraine, rampant nationalism, etc.), it's a measure of comfort to hearken back to childhood heroes that don't disappoint in the present, while the world is crumbling.

Poor dynamic range (5) - what a shame this albums is really nice but sound is really compressed like electronic music...
