This album is fantastic, probably my favorite of Henderson's discography so far. I love Tyner's playing on this and Henderson goes pretty avant-garde at times.
As others have mentioned, a few tape dropouts can be heard but since they're on streaming versions as well, I won't complain. Had no quality control issues, like the rest of the classic series records I own. -
Edited one year agoThe first pressing I bought when it was first released was wall to wall non fill, both sides. One of the worst Classic series pressings I have had.
Just nervously listened to the copy I bought to replace it, and it is absolutely pristine. Now able to enjoy this fine album. -

Got one scratched on both side. Distortion at the beginning of A1(sax part). The QC is really something this series mess up a lot.What a shame that it's such a beautiful-sounding series.

Edited one year agoGreat record. I had to get two copies:
The first one I got had all those non-fills other people are talking about, so I returned it and got a second copy. I noticed some issues with a kind of dropout from the drums, right after the bass solo on A1, but checked it out online and the digital version of the album has the same issue. Probably something with the original tapes. Also, right before Joe Henderson ends his solo on 'El Barrio' there's a very noticeable dropout of all the music, but again, the recording available online has the same issue.
The only thing I noticed is that it has more pops than the other BN Classic Vinyl Series records that I have. But I can live with it. -

This is a great record. First three tracks are in my permanent rotation. Pressing is high quality. A very solid purchase. -
Not one issue with my copy! Dead flat, quiet and clear, with excellent channel separation. This album is all about Henderson but Elvin Jones and Tyner compliment so well together on this gem of an album. -
